ENOLA HOLMES FANFIC!

What if Elona got caught?

It was a dull saturday. About two weeks ago, Enola was found scampering around London solving crimes and figuring out mysteries in unique and creative costumes.

Ever since then, she’s spent her days back at home dragging around in floor length gowns, struggling to breathe in the tightest of corsets, and doing endless chores to “make up for your sins.” It was like it simply didn’t matter to her older brother; Sherlock Holmes, that she’d been in newspapers countless times! He’d trapped her at home, and made it impossible for her to escape.

“Enola! Your Tea!” said the cheery high voice of their new house-keeper Ms. MaryAnne. She was very friendly.. But Enola sensed a fake side of her. She knew that Ms. MaryAnne was sent to make sure she was not able to leave the house. She watched over her like a hawk. It was creepy, to say the least.

“Comingg!” Enola yelled with a groan in the back of her throat. Enola stood up and her embarrassingly large hairstyle tiiipped to the side like a mountain of jello. The gingerish pile of ringlets stacked in an unusual way and covered in bows, was giving her a headache! And she couldn’t even think about how hilariously stupid her massive orange dress looked. The top was a tight mandarin colored corset decked with yellow bows. Then the skirt puffed out extremely and fell “gracefully” in piles of orange and yellow silks. It was very hard to move in.

Enola walked down the hall, but it felt like she was crawling.

“Your tea, darling Enola.” exclaimed Ms. MaryAnne.

“Thanks.” Enola said dryly, and flinched at the sharp look sent at her from across the dining room by her notorious brother Sherlock.

“I-i mean- why thank you dearest!” she replied instead, making a point to add a little extra british to her accent to annoy Sherlock.

A little while later, Enola sat in her room in her underdressings. She was enjoying the little time she got to be free from her corset by scribbling scribbling notes to her mom in the language of flowers in her old notebook. Of course Enola no longer had any access to the newspapers or any ability to submit something to them. All communication with her mother was lost. Probably forever. They where back on the hunt for her after they had found Enola, but she knew just how good her mother was at being on the run. Even SHE hadn’t found her, and Enola had found many missing people on her days on the run.

All of a sudden, there was a sharp ‘DING’ on Enolas window. She glanced back quickly and saw a wisp of familiar ginger hair. “Mum…?” she whispered, scared in the strangest way. A small female figure appeared in the darkening window. “Enola.” Her soft comforting voice smashed into Enola like a wave of memories. “Mum!” She said more clearly, and she opened the window. Like a gentle shadow, Enolas Mom slid through the window and sat on Enolas bed. “Why in the heavens is your hair done like that?”

Enola herself was in stunned silence. Her mom was sitting on her bed, talking to her like she hadn't been gone for 3 years!

“Well, why aren’t you talking?” Her mom said, suddenly beginning to take out the painful curls.

“I-I”  Enola stammered.

“Well hurry up and get changed, we’re leaving in five minutes.”

“What?” She exclaimed, finally able to get a word out.

“What, you wanna stay here?” Her mum teased, grinning, before taking Enola up in a hug. The warmth spread around her, and Enola let out a sigh of peace.

And before even creepy Ms. MaryAnne noticed, the two disappeared into the night.
